Arrived Thursday early AM on a most uneventful flight on Volaris dierct from Oakland to Leon with under 4 hours for the non stop flight.
Cost for round trip is currently under $340 US. A no frills but efficient airline they even charge for soft drinks (35 pesos) or water.
last time I flew them about 5 years ago they gave free soft & hard drinks along with sandwiches.
I opted for an additional $7 US fee which gave me a unsold seat next to me so lots of room to stretch out & sleep much of the journey.
Taxi 420 peso but it took the cabbie over an hour to find my new apartment location after stopping for directions 4 or 5 times. Once we found it (above Tunel Perros Muerots) he quickly unloaded my bags speeding away with my favorite walking stick so HELP I looked & looked yesterday to no avail finding none in the markets or shops here. Can anyone help me on where I can purchase a new one? I am old but not so old I need a cane, just a walking stick. My spares are at home & second one in Zihuatanejo. Fat lot of good that does me.
My new apartment is high up so lots of up & down hiking for the next 2 plus months. Fab view from my enclose sun pouch however!

How did you get a cab for 420 pesos?
Did you bypass the service counter?
The usual charge is 485, I believe.

Love the volaris option of buying an empty seat!

Just a typo with my arthritic fingers.
It was indeed 480 pesos, about $28 that day on CC.
Yes the empty seat deal is well worth $7 US especially on a red eye.

Yep, just took the cab last night and it was 485 pesos. Gto to airport is generally around 400, but I think they have to come back empty, so I give them 500 to cover tolls and tip.

I would rather buy an empty seat than sit in first class. Wish more airlines would do this.
