People disagree with you, DonaldW. This does not mean that you are being ill-treated.

As for the "low membership," I believe it's around 800. Since this forum caters mostly to expats, of whom there are far fewer than 800 in Guanajuato, I think that's not a bad number. As for the low "activity," when I see the kind of nonsense that gets posted on, for example, the San Miguel forums, I'm grateful that we have less.

Guanajauto is far more prosperous than any of my many destinations I have been to over the last 30 years a Mexican travel.
So I was a bit surprised at the lack of choice for Super Market shopping my first trip. Even a town such as Zihuatanejo (about the same population) has a Commercial, a Bodega & a Sams Club.
The Commercial in GTO (or what ever it is called now) has an old & tired feel with a real pain getting a cab upon leaving.
The Mega at least is easy in that department, but is not of the quality of stores even in Oaxaca a truly depressed town economically with beggars everywhere & people eating out of garbage cans but several well stocked Super Markets & a host of Mercados.
The other thing that I was/am disappointed in with GTO is the Mercado with it's (IMO) very limited offerings. Again even Zihua's is at least twice the size.

Most comment on the "side issue" that IMO detracts from the original.
While our host & myself have had our Moments he is very fair & open with virtually zero censorship.

They definitely are still selling the stuff that didn't stay cold since the cheese I bought smelt funny and the frozen thing I bought had melted and reset but didn't taste funny at least...
I think I might need a Walmart trip or try HEB, looks like they might have some of the more strange things I like to eat.

Didn't make it this weekend but hopefully the next one and I will be sure to take some photos, see what they have :)
