Yesterday was time to restock my kitchen so my 92 year old mind in my 72 Year Old body which thinks I am still 32 decided rather than to risk getting on the wrong bus again or paying for a cab I would walk from The Presa to Mega.
I mean what could be so hard about traversing a tunnel or two?
Headed down hill taking the route I had once got there on a bus through what I recalled was a short tunnel It AIN'T!
Had not considered the Darkness, the narrowing in spots, the moisture nor the exhausted fumes from the many cars, buses trucks whizzing by me.
Somehow I made it through tired, sore & rather dirty. On entering the mall I was given a hard look by a security guard. Went into the Banos to discover in the mirror my "hoodie" was mostly black rather than The UNI Gold it had started out as.
Anyways cleaned up the best I could ate the first Mickey Dee's meal (hamburger, fries & coke) I have ever had in 30 years of Mexican travel finding it about as bad as what it is in the US of A.
Went to Mega stocking upon all I needed. Caught a cab ( I am a slow learner but I can learn) where I observed the return tunnel we traversed was not only shorter but came out much nearer my apartment.
I vow my days as a Troglodyte are over!!!!!!!
PS Probably inhaled the equivalent of a month of smoking in my hike something I gave up 14 years ago.

Well it's been 10 days since my last "Mega" sojourn so off I go to the local bus stop ASKING the driver on a bus marked Mega if he went to Mega to which he relied No make a circle with his fingers indicating at least to me that it is on the return trip. So I remember seeing a bus by the School that went to the Mega so I walked the few blocks down sitting on the steps. In about 10 minutes a bus came out of a near by tunnel saying Mega on the side. I again asked & was assured it went to Mega so on I got.
Down to the tunnel BUT Wait! it took the right branch which goes behind the Juarez Treatro.
I do not panic as across from me was a very well dressed lady whom most assuredly looked like a shopper.
Down we went on the backstreet, then onto the main street past Sol & to the bus park. After loading/unloading we entered another tunnel coming out curving around past a park with lots of Busts in it (I am certainly seeing GTO) into another Tunnel then out & Eureka! I see Mega. The Classy lady & I got off the bus. I know a shopper when I see one.
So mystery solved.
