GTO has an excellent dermatologist who speaks English
We are fortunate to have an excellent dermatologist in GTO who speaks English:
Doctora Patricia Romero Hicks. Her office is located at #87 Paseo de la Presa and her office phone number is 731-3502. A visit costs 700 pesos. I was very grateful for her excellent care. I also thank Doyle Phillips for recommending her to me. |

RE: GTO has an excellent dermatologist who speaks English
Thank you for that important information. Dr Hicks is closely related to a past Governor of Guanajuato, I think the last one before our current Governor.
If a person ever suspects that he or she has pre-cancerous skin cells, there is an over-the-counter-med here called EFUDIX, which is a "smart cream" applied topically to those parts of your skin that you suspect. The cream actually "looks" for pre-cancerous cells and destroys them. A person MUST use it for a minimum of two weeks, up to a month, applying it in a very thin film twice a day to the suspected areas, usually suspected parts of the face, neck and arms (the areas exposed most to solar radiation). In a short time your skin will look like HAMBURGER, literally, but will gradually return to a better-than-oringinal-condition after the program is finished. The main thing is that pre-cancerous cells will have been sought out and destroyed. A very powerful cream, a person should read the literature before deciding whether to use it or not. It's a bit pricey, over 500 to 600 pesos now for a small 20 gram tube. It's chemical name is FLOROURACILO made by VALEANT, no need for a prescription. Especially if you are WHITE SKINNED, LIGHT COLORED EYES, and have lived or worked in areas with strong solar radiation, and are over 40 or 45 years old, it is greatly advised to have yourself checked for pre-cancerous skin cells, as it may be highly likely that you have some, and they can be treated quickly, easily, and cheaply with EFUDIX. |

RE: GTO has an excellent dermatologist who speaks English
Efudix is what Dra. Patricia prescribed for me and it was really awful. She took good care of me w/ other creams to try to get rid of the bleeding and what was alot more than just redness. It's nearly X-rated name (EF-U-DIX) has been changed at least in the US and Canada to Efudex. As you walk around with the tell tale signs, many others will commiserate. So maybe it's a way to make more friends.

RE: GTO has an excellent dermatologist who speaks English
Gto has two dermatologists who speak English. The other is Aura Villagomez at Centro Medico de la Presa. I hope I have her name right but the person who answers the phone there will know who you mean.
