First - Car Wash Man at Los Santos in Marfil
For about two years, we paid $50 pesos to get a good car wash. About 18 months ago, my Rav4 was hit. The finder had a single crease from a hit and run driver. The Car Wash Man at Los Santos in Marfil said he was also a body man. I was thrilled! He charged me $500 pesos to make the crease into an entire fender that looked like cottage cheese. I stopped having him wash my car until last Sunday when I asked for a car wash as I my yard man did not come to work and I had an appointment to sell the car. The Car Wash Man at Los Santos in Marfil asked my husband if a wax job would be good too. I nearly said, "No Way!" and should have. The bill was not $200 as I imagined, it was $380! Yes, he did a good job, but I was originally planning to pay $50, then maybe $200 - $250 (a day's wages in the campo), but not $380 for about one hour of labor!

Due to the Cervantino traffic near my beloved CatCan Vet/Grooming Office, I decided to use this easy to drop office grooming center. This was a very bad mistake. I am so very sorry to have used this service. Jolene, who has fluent Spanish, said, "Please bathe them and cut just a little fur off." I used my hand to request a tiny bit of shaping to their heads. Instead the dogs were totally shaved to no hair at all! Now, our two darling formerly "poodle puppy cut" poodles both look like Mexican Hairless dogs. They are physically cold as they are completely without fur. The $360 pesos was an outrageous fee to simply, very poorly and unevenly, shave our poodles to their bare skin. See for yourself

The Duck generally pays between 50-70 pesos for a regular wash of his minivan. When it was detailed on Calle Carrizo [wash polish wax and full interior clean] it was 800 pesos.
At the Auto Spa in la Presa its 700 for a detailed clean. So your wash/wax job at 380 seems to be a fair price. Regardless of how long the job took what is of value is how your car looked and as you say "he did a good job".

Jackie, What was the condition of the dog's fur when you took them in for grooming? How long had it been since their last grooming? Having been the one to recommend this groomer, and having had to have my own poodle shaved to the skin because I had waited too long between groomings, and her fur was badly matted because I had not brushed my poodle daily as I should have, I am wondering if it is really the fault of the groomer. I have used Can Cat many times over the years, and they too have had to shave my poodle when I neglected her.
You were away for many weeks and your dogs run free outdoors on a ranch. I was very impressed with this groomer. I saw her work with another dog who looked beautiful after grooming. She is well qualified professionally. I think you should give her another chance or rethink your decision to deter other poodle owners.Thanks, Gloria

Avoid the dry cleaner at Embajadoras (at the downhill bus stop where Oxxo and Extra is).

While they are indeed cheap, they had my tie destroyed and refused to apologize. They do a sloppy job with ironing and pressing pants.
