Shall Democrats Abroad sponsor another blanket drive?

A few years ago Democrats Abroad Guanajuato bought a large number
of new blankets to distribute among the poor people of the area.
(Daniel Greenwell arranged a deep-discount purchase.)

Some reports say that an unusually cold winter is on the way. Would you
contribute your money and perhaps a little time to this repeat effort?
We should begin the work immediately so please respond now.

How much money can you afford to donate? Used blankets? Cold weather
clothing?

This message went earlier today to many local members of Democrats Abroad and to others who I hope might participate--a total of 70 people, mostly in Guanajuato.

Prefer to avoid political labels and stuff, but we will gladly contribute to this needed cause. How may we get you a cash donation? How much must you presently pay for a new, good blanket?

Not sure my previous response got thru. Not had a price quote yet on the blanket buy. Whether the bulk purchase can go forward depends on how many people respond with cash donations and the amount we can depend on as a total. In other words we can't get them wholesale if we are buying only five.

At this time yours is the first donation of money and by the end of the week if there is insufficient response then the idea will not go forward.

Another person has donated two blankets and two children's coats so we have a very long way to go if we go at all. Thanks, doyle

Well I'm not technically living abroad (only 4 months a year) & I most certainly need no more political e-mails after receiving more than a couple of thousand this past election. but I would be happy to make a small donation to such a worthy cause.

whether enough money can probably be raised so that blankets can be purchased at bulk wholesale. At this point i am not optimistic. --doyle
