Flu Shots at the Centro de Salud
If you are over 60 and want to get the current flu vaccine you can do so while supplies last at the Centro de Salud on the street after the Comercial Mexicana that leads to the Parque Cantador.
The shot is free but you need a Cartilla de Salud [shot book] which they will do on the spot if you show: copy of birth certificate, comprobante de domicilio [fone /electric or water bill in your name], a copy of your CURP and an Infantil size foto . They tend to be busy mid-morning to mid-afternoon but late afternoon the lines are short. Yesterday at 4:30 it took me15 minutes and most of that was having data entered in the cartilla. |

RE: Flu Shots at the Centro de Salud
At 72 I highly second Bill's suggestion.
Got mine yesterday along with my bi-annual Typhoid shot, Now if there was just such a thing as a Dengue shot I'd be all set! Smile |

RE: Flu Shots at the Centro de Salud
IMSS members (of any age, I think) can also get the shot at the IMSS clinic in Cata. Free, of course. There are two Medicina Preventiva offices there; choose the one with the shorter line. Expect to wait anywhere from half an hour to forever.
