Does anyone know what is happening in Centro today? It appears most roads are blocked to get in.

Not certain, but 28 Sept is date that El Pipila burnt the doors of the Alhóndiga starting the 1810 Mexican war for independence from Spain. Probably patriotic/commemorative doings.

Thanks! I would imagine you are right. We saw that they had blocked off access by Alhóndiga last night, and there was a crowd gathered.

September 28 is always the biggest parade of the year here.
