Check your bills for counterfeit...

Last year at a Pemex at the toll road near San Luís Potosí i was given $400 pesos in phoney money, two bills of $200. Not an unusual occurrence in México.

But in the u.s.? A friend just last week at a Laredo, Texas money changer received the same amount in two bogus peso bills among the genuine. Be aware on both sides of the border.

In a way i excuse the locals passing bad money but not so with corporate money changers dispensing counterfeits. Almost certainly these professionals know when they are gypping you.
