Mexican will
My husband and I own a home here in GTO. We want to have a simple will drawn up - if anything happens to him, the property gets left to me, if anything happens to me, the home goes to him, and if anything happens to both of us we want the home to go to our daughter.
Do I just go to a notario to get this done? A friend told me that wills can be done free of charge in the month of September or October. Is this true? if so, how does that work? Any advice would be appreciated!!! |

RE: Mexican will
Yes, just go to a notario.
The mes de testamento is September but if you are seriously thinking of creating a will waiting until you can get one at a discount may not be the best plan - when I had my will done some years back it was under 2500 pesos. ![]() |

RE: Mexican will
We are not in a major rush or anything (we are here for another 15 months more or less so we just want to get it done before we head back to the States) so I think we may wait until September.
Can I just go to a notario in September or do I have to go to special offices for the discounted will? |

RE: Mexican will
I would go to ask the cost and what papers/identification would be needed, and how long it would take. Then I would return in September to ask the cost and get an appointment. It may be as cheap as 50% discount, not more. At a Notario.
