RE: IMSS
You could try the IMSS on-line Directorio which will lead you to a general number - from there you'll probably need to know your Consultario unit # and if AM or PM

RE: IMSS
There's a toll-free number for appointments at any IMSS clinic: 01-800-681-2525. As The Duck says, you'll probably need to know your consultorio number and whether your doctor is on the morning or afternoon shift. If you don't know that information, it should appear on the first page of your IMSS booklet. We've tried to make appointments by calling the Cata clinic but have been told to use the 800 number.
If phoning doesn't work for you, what most people do is just show up and wait. If their doctor has the morning shift, they arrive as early as 5:00 or 6:00 (no kidding) to stake their place in line. Don |

RE: IMSS
That's why the afternoon shift is better. You go in the morning, around 11am and ask in a loud voice "?Qui?n es el ?ltimo por la tarde?" That person stands up and leaves. You sit down and wait until the next person comes in and asks "?Qui?n es el ?ltimo por la tarde?". You can then leave and go to lunch. Everyone begins to come back around 2pm and look for the person that was in front of them and the line up forms. Perfect system much better than Seguro Popular.
