Good place to buy silver jewelry?

Some friends are visiting us for a week and would like to buy some silver jewelry. They're a little concerned about the silver content being misrepresented. Do you perchance know of a reputable vender or have any other suggestions for them?

I trust the folks at "Corazon de Plata". It's on positos, just up from the university. They sell mostly earrings, but they (Gabriel or Cyntia) can probably steer you elsewhere for other stuff.

Hi! I trained in jewellery in the UK and yes, you are very right to ask where to get good quality silver. Unfortunately in this country there is NO regulation to who gets a stamp to mark the pieces, so ANYONE can get a .925 or .950 stamp and mark a ring or any piece of white metal or alloy. There is a shop in Central Guanajuato near the San FranciscoTemple. Cannot remember the name exactly, something that has Quijote in it, if you walk from Jardin towards San Francisco you will see it, it is a huge builing and they sell crafts and jewellery. There is a lot of silver coming here from South East Asia, very cheap indeed, and white metal pieces created here but with very little silver content or none at all. It is very complex and would be very long to explain about what happened with silver in Mexico. Shops near Valenciana and other mines also stock silver but it is a mixed bag in my very personal point of view having seen it.

I am tempted to say My Wife's jewelry box as she has dozens & dozens of pieces purchased over the years in PV, Guadalajara & of course Taxco. She never wears any of it now.
HMMMMMMMM Wonder what I could get for it? LOL
