Security problems in Pastita and Temezcuitate

Thanks for posting this article here. I am a member of the committee which started in Callejon de Guijas, and I have been actively involved since November 2013 in trying to improve this area. We asked Cesar Gonzalez from VREC to come to our neighborhood and give us a presentation of where cameras could be located. Until our meeting last Tuesday, we weren't aware that there are also neighborhood groups from Pastita, Montenegro, Santo NiNo and Temezcuitate; some of those neighbors also came to our meeting on July 1.
Our committee will to continue to work with the city to urge them to add more police patrols, have youth programs, give us whistles and "vecino vigilante" banners, and cooperate with the cost of installing the cameras. Lic. Macias mentioned several times that he doesn't think Pastita/Guijas is a problem area; probably because many people don't bother to report incidents because they think it's a waste of time. I've been living in this area since 1999, and I know that things are getting worse, here and all over the city.
