Cucina Rusa Matrioshka Menu

Gela and I ate at Matrioshka today. We ordered the blinchiki (mushroom crepes) and the pilmeni (ravioli stuffed with je ne sais quoi). Diners at a nearby table had the macarony salad, which looked delicious. We also enjoyed the ponche, a refreshing, very lightly fruit-flavored water.

The good news was that the food was tasty, and a welcome change from standard Guanajuato fare. We'll return. The bad news is that Mom, the owner, wasn't around today. Her daughter did all the cooking and all the serving, and as a result the service was slow. When we go back, we'll verify that more than one person is at work before ordering.

Finally, we were pleased to note, having seen ominous warnings on the other Guanajuato forum, that all of the patrons were clothed.

Matrioshka is open from 1:30 to 9:00, every day but Monday.
