I always enjoyed tipping the young girl who bagged groceries at the Ahorremas store on Cantarranas. I don't know if she ever got any of the money, but the look of surprise on her face always made the act worthwhile.
On a side note, my Spanish teacher Luis told me a few years back that waiters in restaurants only make $4-$5 USD per eight hour day. Ever since I heard that I "upped my game" a little on the tips. |
