Tipping the baggers at El Comer
After I learned that the baggers aren't paid a salary, I've been upping my tip, and the last time I went, I paid the bagger 20 pesos. He was almost embarrassingly grateful, saying it was way above average. I've since decided to increase my tip to 50 pesos. I don't go there that often. $2.50 is not a big deal to me, but it is to them. And it is only accident that I happened to be born in a much wealthier country (and at a time when I didn't have to spend half my adult life paying off college debts). I'd like to hear anyone else's opinion on this, whether you think it's a good idea or not.
