Acting Class in Guanajuato?

Hello All!!

Ted Rooney here. I am trying to get a feel for if a class like mine may be feasible in Guanajuato. I am an actor and an acting instructor. I have my MFA in theatre from Temple University and have a lifetime of film, TV and stage experience (below is my webpage and a link to my IMDB page). I have moved to Guanajuato with my wife and two kids that we may all get to know Mexican culture and learn some Spanish. We will be here for at least two months. We just decided to pull our kids out of school and get out of the country for a spell. We are so happy we have made this sacrifice!

We moved to Portland, Oregon from Los Angeles over ten years ago, which is when I began supplementing my acting career with teaching. I have taught on-camera acting (TV and Film) for all of those ten years, and have developed a comprehensive acting studio, Rooney/Totman Studio. One of my classes is a 6-7 week introduction to acting for the camera class that is fun, very effective, and great both for those who are serious about being an actor as well as for those who are curious and want to learn something new. I could also teach a one-time class for free as an introduction to me and what I teach.

I find great joy in teaching, so it would be terrific to teach a class while I am here, though I am not sure how many English speakers there are here who would be interested. Any feedback from you at all on this idea would be so appreciated! We have few folks we know here yet, so it would be great to hear from someone with “boots on the ground” regarding interest and/or feasibility for a class like this in Guanajuato. I’d also appreciate so much any feedback on what the logistics might look like (location, day and time). We have met with Doyle Phillips - who most of you may know - and he suggested that I post here.

I might suggest you also post this over on facebook. There are 3 groups over there which have heavy traffic for people interested in, and living in Guanajuato. One group is Guanajuato TQM! (I❤️U), the other group is Lovers of Guanajuato, and last, Guana What. You can look them up and find them easily on facebook. Oh, and I would certainly be interested in any classes you may have.
