NEW INM RULES AS OF MAY I, 2010

GREAT NEWS!

WARNING! This is NOT written in stone yet but I spoke with one of the officials at Instituto Nacional de Migraci?n (INM) in San Miguel de Allende (SMA) on Tuesday and he indicated that effective immediately, we no longer need to present copies of the FM2s or FM3s when we submit documents for renewals (Pr?rrogas/Refrendos), and we are also not required to present change of address documents UNLESS the individual (s) have moved.

Also, as of May 1, 2010 we will no longer have to wait ten to 14 days to acquire FM2s nor FM3s. The procedures will be minimized and we may be able to get them in one to three days depending on the circumstances. He did not have details on the future requirements but he will give them to us as soon as they become available.

They will also cease using the current booklets and will instead extend a card that will look like a credit card. This card will include your photograph and signature. This will most likely require your presence at their office in order to get your signatures.

I will, of course, gladly continue to provide my services and facilitate the process in any way I can. I will transport people to Le?n or SMA as needed (all for a reasonable fee).
