Do you know of a vendor of tanned, lightweight leather?
León has many but i had rather not drive there for the small dimensions that i seek. |

We have had good luck with a leather shop (owners: Javier & Gabbie) right in the Plaza de Paz, near or next to the icecream shop (not the one under the church). They have their contacts in Leon for small jobs. Good luck.
