Transportation from the Border

We are moving to Guanajuato in April next year. We don't want to bring a car to Mexico and would prefer not to fly so we wondered if anyone knows of a driver that could pick us up at the border and transport us to Guanajuato, 2 adults, 2 dogs (1 small 1 medium size) and probably 4-6 pieces of luggage. We looked at driving a rental car from Colorado to the border and then renting a car in Nuevo Laredo but couldn't work out the logistics of changing cars at the border, hence the driver idea. Any thoughts on the positives or negatives of the driver option, how to make the rental car option work, or any other transport ideas much appreciated.

We have known Rafa and his family for many years and have hired Rafa and both his sons for numerous trips and rides all around the GTO and Leon areas. He has studied English at UG and while not fluent can communicate well enough. He carries the highest certification for tour guides both from local and Federal governments.
He has been a taxi driver here for almost thirty years. In recent years he and his son have acquired their own nearly new 12 passenger van and does tourist runs to SMA and others.
