Staking out an apartment and deposits

Dear all,

My husband and I are traveling to Gto soon - from March 1-9. We have been looking at apartments online https://www.vivanuncios.com.mx/ (this website seems like the best one so far) and we want to see a couple of them when we get there.

From what I've gathered, we will need to put down first and last months' rent as the deposit and sign a lease for 6 or 12 months.

If we decide we like an apartment, do we need to somehow verify that we're giving deposit money to the right person or company?

I'm also wondering how we actually put deposit money down on the apartment. Maybe some kind of transfer between banks?

I have rented three apartments in GTO and each time the owner has given me an account number to their bank. I just go to the bank and make monthly payments. Easy.
