Second chance to donate your body to science and education!
For those of you living here in Guanajuato who might die here, have you thought about what you want to be done with your body? Perhaps you'd like to donate it to the medical school of the Universidad de Guanajuato for research and/or education. Here's more information:
http://www.ugto.mx/noticias/noticiasrsse...g-purposes If you would like to save yourself a trip to Leon, Dr. Gerardo Chávez Saavedra from the Universidad de Guanajuato, Campus Leon, will be coming to Guanajuato to collect forms for those who want to donate their bodies to the medical school. He will bring blank forms for us to fill out; they can't be sent by email because they need to be signed and witnessed in front of him. Last month, five of us met with Dr. Chávez here in Guanajuato, and he has agreed to come again. We will meet here: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2017 9:30 -11:00 a.m. Los Alpes Restaurant patio (in front of the main doors of the Universidad de Guanajuato on Lascurain de Retana) Please send me the follow information before SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4 so you can receive your laminated donor card on November 10th. Otherwise you will need to make a trip to Leon to pick up your card, or wait until Dr. Chávez comes to Guanajuato again. Please do not send this information if you are not serious; otherwise it is a waste of materials and time for them to produce your ID card. Send to barbaradavoli@hotmail.com NAME ADDRESS PHONE NUMBER SEX MARITAL STATUS AGE OCCUPATION CONTACTS (2) BRING: your original and one copy of your PASSPORT, IFE, and/or other official Mexican immigration ID card. If you like, bring a witness; otherwise we can be each other’s' witnesses. We can made copies of the ID at the copy center attached to Los Alpes. If you plan to attend, please let me know so I can tell Dr. Chávez how many people to expect. He is fluent in English and can answer all your questions about the process. There is no cost to the donor or his/her family to transport the body to the research facilities, however no funeral service is covered by the University of Guanajuato. See you there! P.S. I have more information in English about the donor program, but the attachment is too large to include here. Send me an email at barbaradavoli@hotmail.com and I'll forward it to you. |

RE: Second chance to donate your body to science and education!
Hi Cousin!
I’m a Anatomy Donor at the University of Minnesota already (though they won’t ship to MN from out of the country) so this local option is fantastic! I am now here for the duration so please let me know when there’s a 3rd chance here in town to make the arrangements. And, thank you for your time/efforts helping us recycle. |
