Amigos de los Animales annual party

Come help us celebrate the 16th anniversary of
Amigos de los Animales de Guanajuato
on Sunday, February 26, 3:00 p.m.

with a party featuring live entertainment, a silent auction, a sale of terrific items, a raffle of great prizes, and wonderful food!. The party will be held at La Toscana, a beautiful salón and jardín de fiestas at Mina de Nopal No. 20, in Colonia San Javier one block from Plaza San Javier. La Toscana has plenty of free parking.

Tickets for the party are now on sale from Amigos board members Nancy Cortes, Joan Hicks Romero, Angeles Leyva, Vero Mares, Marion Pritchard, Tom Reavley, Julia Salido, and Sandra Ward. They are also sold at the following venues: Casa Museo Gene Byron (Camino Real, Marfil), Clínica Veterinaria Can-Cat (Calle Alhóndiga No. 25, Centro), Clínica Veterinaria Dainzu (Lote3 Manzana Int. 38, Las Teresas), Escuela Falcón (Callejon de Gallitos No. 6, Centro), Viajes Escala (Calle Alonso No. 42, Centro), and Óptica Ven y Ver (Plaza San Javier). Price per ticket is 300 pesos if purchased before February 24. Tickets can also be purchased at the party for 350 pesos.
Each ticket entitles you to a free raffle ticket, a complimentary glass of wine or beer, PAELLA prepared by La Toscana´s chef, and delicious botanas and deserts.

The entertainment will include rhythm & blues, rock, and music from the 60´s performed by Three Cool Cats and Peter Pope Jones, music by Mariachi Santa Rosa, and another hilarious parody by the Amigos Follies.

We are soliciting sale items and auction and raffle prizes. If you have something of value and in good condition that you do not need, please consider donating it to Amigos. Appropriate items include artworks, ceramics and glassware, housewares, clothing and accessories, jewelry, electronics, furniture, automotive supplies, toys, and pet supplies and equipment.

If you have a talent or service you can offer as an auction prize, here’s your chance to shine! Are you a good cook, a musician, an expert in some field, a teacher? Use your imagination. The more creative, amusing, or unusual the prize, the more likely it is to attract bids.

If you will email us a description or photograph of your donation and your phone number, one of our volunteers will contact you to discuss the details. Please let us hear from you by the middle of January. We must receive all donations for the auction and sale by January 26.

Proceeds from the party
will support our sterilization,
education, and rescue activities.

It’s the support from people like you that has enabled Amigos de los Animales to serve our community and its companion animals for the past 16 years. With your help we have sterilized more than 14,000 dogs and cats, raised the public’s awareness of companion animals’ needs and pet owners’ responsibilities through our numerous education activities, and supported the rescue and rehabilitation of more than 3,500 homeless and neglected dogs and cats. The streets of Guanajuato and neighboring villages are safer and cleaner, thanks to the work we have done with your support.
