Putting feelers out for a long term rental beginning in June/July
Hi everyone, my boyfriend and I and our two dogs will be moving to gto sometime in June or July, and we will be looking for a long term rental - 1 year at least. I know that the local chopper is the best way to find rentals once we arrive, however I'm wondering if any members here might have a lead on something? I know my boyfriend would feel much better if we had a destination waiting for us. We are looking for something at least 2 bedroom, fully furnished, and would love a secure enclosed garden or patio for the dogs and I to spend some time outdoors. We will be driving down, so we'll also need a secure parking spot, although I don't intend to drive more than is absolutely necessary.
I've heard outside of Centro is much quieter which appeals to me because I work from home, however one of the reasons to move to gto is to be immersed in culture - so, I suppose it doesn't matter the neighborhood because I really don't have a clue! We are looking for something $600 usd with utilities or below and obviously mascotas-friendly. Alternatively, we would also love a recommendation for a place to stay for a week or two once we arrive. Someplace that's relatively simple to drive into, as frankly I'm a bit terrified of driving in the city! We'd appreciate staying win someone bilingual to hopefully assist us in securing our own rental. Thank you all for any help and ideas! :) |

RE: Putting feelers out for a long term rental beginning in June/July
I just had to give up my wonderful furnished three bedroom house. It had a patio on the roof and a little green space next door (okay it was really just a half-finished, abandoned house, but no one would mind your dog's using it as a bathroom.) The roof and house are enclosed by a fence, and the family who owns the place is lovely and pet friendly. We installed internet, and it is very fast. Rent and bills total less than 6000 pesos a month. Its on the panoramica, above embajadores, so you have to like walking up hills. The only problem was that the mailman did not deliver to our house because our door was behind said fence. I'm not sure if it will still be available in June, but I would be happy to send you their info if you pm me.

Hi Olivia, thank you so much! We can't be down there any earlier than July, so I doubt it'll be available by then, but thank you anyways! In your experience, how were you able to find this rental? Is it possible to secure one that's similar quickly once we arrive, do you think?

We used the Chopper. It comes out every Saturday, and you can buy it at most of the tiendas. We had to look at a few places, but it only took us two weeks.
