The biggest parade of the year?
"September 27 End of Independence War Consumaci?n de la Independencia Celebrates the end of the Mexican Independence War on 1821, 11 years after Father Hidalgo started it."

Do you know whether the parade will be held on Saturday or Sunday?

Do you know of an on-line schedule of public events in the city of Guanajuato?

Doyle, there are several online events listings for GTO. A good place to start is to look up to the header of any page on gtolist and you'll see a button that looks like this:

Plenty of info on that site and worth checking but nothing about Saturday's parade. For that you need to go to http://www.guanajuatocapital.mx

where you'll find this:

Eventos: Sabado 28 de Septiembre de 2013

Gran desfile estatal del CCIII Aniversario de la “Toma de la Alh?ndiga de Granaditas”

Principales calles de la ciudad
28/09/2013
10:00 hrs.

Embajadoras is a good viewing point. One of the main assembly areas is near the State Capital building on Paseo de la Presa

and for three and a half minutes of highlights from last year's Gran Desfile there is always YouTube

The parade starts at the Pipila at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday.

The big month-long poster of events is posted in various places around town. This photo was snapped in front of the Casa de Cultura.
I just realized, after posting and then watching the post with the bomberos in action, that this is not the BIG PARADE that Doyle wanted to know about.

Still, a walking tour following (partly) Hidalgo's route of Independence might be interesting!

The BIG PARADE is probably like so many things in Guanajuato: time and dates are not publicized because "everyone" knows about it!

Yes - but just "yes", 3 letters only, is too short for a message
