Garden club?
I have been taking care of some vegetables at the house I am renting. While I am an experienced gardener, I am feeling daunted by the number of problems I am seeing- fungal, bacterial and viral diseases, several species of worms, aphids, nutrient deficiency. How do you folks manage to grow anything with so many pests and diseases around? I need to know what grows successfully without a complete arsenal of agricultural chemicals. None of the products I am used to using is available. Does anyone know of a farm supply store nearby?
Are there any successful gardeners here that would like to form a core for a garden club to share our knowledge and resources? I had 30+ year career as a professional crop consultant, but I?m going to have to start learning a whole new way of doing things with the different climate and problems inherent in gardening in GTO. If so, contact me at nuevokathryn@gmail.com Kathryn |

RE: Garden club?
Hi Kathryn,
I don't know anything about gardening, but can recommend that you talk to Nicole Costa at the Natura store (on Campanero inside the little commercial area between Antigua restaurant and the bridge of Santo Cafe). She's been very successful with her garden in Santa Rosa, and has a lot of local contacts. Good luck! Barbara |
