Amigos de los Animales is working with the state Secretariat of Health to organize free sterilization campaigns each month. Attached is an announcement of the campaign dates and their locations scheduled for September. Veterinarians from the Secretariat of Health will perform the operations; Amigos will provide equipment and volunteer support.
Please share this information with others. For those who do not know Spanish, the poster states that registration will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. each day. Those bringing pets should arrive early in order to register and be included. An adult must accompany the animal/s. The animal should not have eaten or drunk water for 12 hours before arriving. Cats should be brought in a securely fastened cloth or mesh bag (one through which it can breathe). Bring a blanket or towel for keeping the animal warm. Here are a few more comments and recommendations of my own: An animal should be at least two months old before it is sterilized. Give the dog or cat plenty to eat and drink the night before the campaign. The earlier you arrive at the campaign, the less stress for the animal and the more quickly it will be sterilized. Please note that my server does not forward responses to the the GTOList to me. Therefore if you want to send me a comment, please send it to wardsandra@aol.com Thanks, Sandra Ward |
