I'm confused by the first two words of your post. Was the purse stolen, or did you forget it?

That sounds terrible - sorry to hear it. I'm sure you've reported it to the police, which probably won't to any good but is about all you can do. You mentioned documents; if you're from the U.S. and your passport was in there, you should get in touch with Ed Clancy at the U.S. consular office in San Miguel right away .

RE: lost kipling purse on Unidad Deportivo Bus yesterday....help?
I'd say the chance is only 1% of recovery but you could go (or call) city govt to find out the phone # + name of the owner of the route. At least you'd be alerting him to a problem passenger on that run.
I'm sorry to say that for every 5 super-responsible people here who hand a person what (s)he drops, there are some bad apples, usually young people. I had things taken from my tote bag on an ETN bus. Someone who recently dropped a purse in the Pozuelos theatre complex told me she only carries a copy of her residence permit, not the original. My sympathy. |

LOST US and MEXICAN DOCUMENTS
In order to get a replacement for ANY US and/or Mexican official document (hopefully you have a scanned and saved copy), have a print-out of your lost documents and take them to the "Ministerio P?blico" on Alhondiga, across the street from Can-Cat. You must have a report from them (and several copies) as well as your new applications prepared, before you go to the Consulate and INM in San Miguel to apply for your new US and Mexican documents. |
