where to take dead batteries, modems for recycling
The city building (palacio municipal) between the Jardin and Plaza de la Paz. Go into the first office on the left & then thank them for what they're doing! This includes hearing aid batteries, you'll have to ask about car batteries.

RE: where to take dead batteries, modems for recycling
Dead Car Batteries have value. When you buy a new battery there are two prices. The higher price is if you do not trade in your dead/old battey. The most expensive batteries are those in e.g. the MEGA where they cannot handle the trade in. If you just happen to have an old car battery you want to get rid of take it to one of the battery shops - there are several around town with signs out front with the'buy' price. The current scrap/recycle price is now around 150 pesos.
