What's Up with Banamex ???
In the past, I've been able to pay all my utility bills (CFE, Telmex, and Simapag) online with my Banamex debit card. CFE stopped working a year ago, and with the latest "upgrade" to Bancanet, my online payments to Simapag and Telmex are being rejected, even though there is more-than-sufficient money in my account.

Before I visit my local branch and wait forever to see the gerente (who will have to call DF and open a trouble ticket to investigate), has anyone else experienced and tried to resolve the same problem?

My Banamex debit card never did work for paying utilities of any kind online. What I do instead is go the the place in the Banamex web site that says "payments". You can pay through there. What you have to do is register a bill that you want to pay, and write in the maximum amount a payment should be. (You only have to register each bill once, not every month.) Once it is registered, then you can click on the logo for the company (Telmex or Cfe or whatever), and start the payment process. If you don't have the bill in front of you, you'll have to go online to the actual company and either print out a bill or copy down the codes that the Banamex site asks for. It's ultra-secure, and a huge hassle, but does work. It is a direct debit from your Banamex account. By the way, if you make a payment over a weekend, it doesn't register until the next business day -- give them until noon.

I never have figured out how to pay SIMAPAG through Banamex, but I am able to pay that with a USA-issued MasterCard.

Hope this helps.

With the new-and-improved Bancanet 2.0 software, these vendors no longer show up. Until this month, I was able to pay Simapag and Telmex with my Banamex card via their sites (not Banamex). It appears that with the new system, Banamex wants their customers to pay via Bancanet instead.

I may try setting up the vendors again from scratch, but gotta feeling it's FUBAR.
