vehicle nationalizing caution

The news is not good if you think (as I did) that Mexico still permits vehicles 10 years or older for nationalization. Rules have changed but many, if not most, websites continue to give the old info.

"Just called Aduanas, in Mexico city, and I was told that only vehicles that are 2003 and 2004 can be nationalized.

We know also that the VIN number has to start with a number (from 1 to 5) to make sure it was made in USA or Canada...

As I always say, this is the information I was given, and I pass it it on to you..but feel free to check by yourself." (From a lady in SMA whose business is immigration.)
