Cervantino tickets

As always, the dance events at the State Auditorium should be excellent, also the Japanese puppets at the Cervantes, and I always find it worthwhile to check other events there and at the Principal. The Capella Guanajuatensis (Cuautemoc, Djamilia, etc.) will play one Thursday night at the Iconografico and Zephyrus (OSUG winds & brass) is giving a concert somewhere. Jose Luis Castillo, almost a cult figure when he led OSUG here, will be conducting a Shakespeare 450 concert at the Juarez.

My pick so far for Shakespeare comes under the heading Proyecto Ruelas, performances in Mexiamora on the Oct 18 & 19 by actors from communities in our state, who have had "real" theater people rehearsing them. And I'm sure to go to the exhibit of Guatemalan textiles in the Museo del Pueblo.

Once again, world music at the ex-hacienda San Gabriel and the Alhondiga. In an off-Cervantino event, Kate Burt is directing an evening of comic opera songs on the roof of Casa Cuatro (which has excellent lighting) the 9,10,11.
