Ready for somewhere different, Day of the Dead? Aguascalientes
As the city where printmaker Jose Guadalupe Posada made the Calavera a symbol of the day as well as a satirical symbol of the upper class before the Revolution, Aguascalientes is devoting a whole week of events this year (started the 26th through Nov 4), 100 years after Posada's death. By bus from Leon every half hour, as I remember it's a two-hour trip. I also remember two good restaurants near the Posada Museum.
Here's one link for more information on the week's events: http://www.theguadalajarareporter.com/ne...pital.html Wikipedia's informative on Posada. |
