In addition to the very center of town, The Embajadora, Pastita, and close-in Paseo de la Presa neighborhoods are level or nearly so. Of the three, Paseo de la Presa, pretty in the daytime, is probably the least safe after dark, though. The list is longer if you would consider using the bus routinely.

I've lived in la Presa for over 11 years and consider it safe both day and night time. The main street - Paseo de la Presa is well lit. If one is out and about at say 3am anywhere things could get dicey but why would you be out wandering around that late anyway? - take a cab home.

Not to worry. There's only one three o'clock in my day.
