Seguro Popular refused to renew me
As a resident in San Miguel de Allende, I went to renew my Seguro Popular office next to the general hospital this week and was told that there was a change in the law as of the beginning of the year and that expats had to become naturalized citizens in order to get SP and was then given directions to the naturalization office. I have had SP first for 3 years, and then last year they would only renew it for 1 year. Now they won't renew it. But, friends of mine, both residente permanente holders, like me, were renewed a few weeks ago. Anyone have a similar experience in GTO, or have a suggestion on how I should proceed from here in order to get my SP renewed?
