Are there any public swimming pools in GTO??? - Gigi Harrison - 06-18-2011
I would like to be able to do some exercises in a pool. Since I am only here part time, I don't want to subscribe to an expensive gym membership. Are there any public pools or inexpensive gyms with pools here? Thanks, Gigi

There is a great indoor pool complex on the road to Valenciana. It is part of the university. You can swim there anytime form about 7 am to 3pm. Then they have school kids. You can buy a 8 or 12 swim punch pass. I think it is about 400 pesos for 12 swims. you can go for as long as you want. In January the lanes are 50 metres, but by February the lanes are 25 metres. I am in Guanajuato Jan. through to the end of March so I do not know what the other times are like. I have swum on Saturdays as well as during the week. The water is over your head, but there are tables along many of the lanes so that you can do exercises. I know of a few people who do exercises that way.
