Caution - Radio Shack - Clemens - 06-17-2011
In case you buy electronics, a word of caution about Radio Shack in Guanajuato.
This company brag about their customer service on their web site, but unlike in the US, the Mexican stores have as written policy to not refund anything that you buy. If your product does not work as expected, even in original condition and with receipt they will not refund.
If asking before purchasing, the Steren store is more friendly with returns.

I think this is pretty typical for M?xico. But, I did return a phone to Radio Shack. It worked for a few days, and then died. No problems at all returning. I've also returned things to Comercial with no problems.

I agree with both posts. Steren is friendlier but the manager once told me no refunds just exchanges - but since I was a regular customer he would give me a cash refund. I've returned items to Mega/Comercial/Soriana(Leon) without problem.
I'd suggest you print out Radio Shack's written on-line policy and take it along with your experience to PROFECO - the national consumer protection agency. They have an office diagonally across from the Teatro Principal. PROFECO seem to love what they do. One time they told me if the Ministerio Publico kept giving me a run around they'd go after them.
