Request for info on what you take or bring - louisarogers - 05-03-2020

For an article I’m writing, I’d like to hear (especially if you live in GTO part-time), when you go to the US, Canada or wherever, what things from Mexico do you take with you that you can’t easily find there? And what do you bring back that you can’t get in Mexico? Email me at louisarogers51 at gmail. Gracias.

Hello, I am from Guanajuato and I don't often go to the US or Canada but I know people that do and I also know what I would take so here are some ideas:

Mexico to Us/Canada -
*Souvenirs.
*Herbs.
*Mexican sweets such as tamarindos and other local goodies.
*Tequila and mezcal.
*Locally produced clothing items.

Us/Canada to Mexico -
*Any and all electronic devices, especially cameras (from go-pros to high quality cams), phones, computers, all sorts of gadgets.
*Musical instruments and methods and gadgets.
*Books. General literature, text books, learning/teaching methods and for a specific field of research.
*Spices. Some that are difficult to find around here or too expensive like nutmeg
*Clothing. Especially fashionable clothes for girls and specialty garments for cold, sports and activities such as dance (like leotards, pointe shoes)...
*Sports and other activity gadgets. From hiking to climbing to gym to ballet items.

May they be of use!

I disagree on the musical instruments; they are very competitively priced here, especially the ones with strings on them.
If you're considering making a pre-immigration acquisition, or bringing down a piano, you can get a pretty good idea of what musical instruments cost here at https://www.mercadolibre.com.mx/
