Has anyone seen a coyote in the nearby countryside? Their range map covers most of Mexico with a subspecies actually called “Colima”.
I feel fairly confident I spotted one, from some distance, recently moving thru the brush above Presa de La Olla but not certain.

I heard that they are commonplace in the "campo" around SMA. And I once saw on on the road between La Cieneguita and Xoconoxtle el Grande.
I heard that a farmer outside of Llanos de Santa Ana (that's the community near Valenciana) killed one a few years ago.
