Loving Dog With Cancer Needs Home - Sharon Anton - 10-03-2017
Attached is photo of Negro, a medium-size black dog with cancer living in Cuevas. He's one of the most loving and appreciative dogs I've ever met. The owner of the restaurant "La Oficina" lets Negro hang out at his place and eat there. Other than that, Negro has no home.
Once a week Martha Miranda (of Fundación Corazón Animal de Guanajuato) and I drive out to Cuevas to pick up Negro for his chemo therapy treatment at Can-Cat. A kind donor pays for treatments. Negro's tumor has shrunk dramatically but he still needs another treatment or two.
Although Negro is improving, he's been attacked by other dogs roaming the streets in Cuevas three times during the course of his treatments. Negro is no fighter. Each time he has developed an infection that's required strong antibiotics. It's hard for him to fight the infections and cancer along with chemo all at the same time.
We have no space for Negro in our current shelter. Please spread the word about Negro to anyone you know who might have an interest in providing a stable, loving home for him. He's a wonderful dog who deserves the very best.
