question about posting to forums/pm/email - McNally del Campo - 01-24-2017 Hello all, I don't have much experience posting to this forum, so I'm hoping someone can explain how private messages and emails work on this site. I had written a PM to someone a few months ago, but after clicking to send, I had no record in my profile that it went out, and never got a response from the individual. I had a similar experience today when I tried using the direct email option--- there was no record in my 'sent messages' folder. When I clicked 'send', a message came on the screen to tell me it was sent successfully, though I wonder if it has been received and why I can't see it in the 'sent messages' folder. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my account settings? Also, what is the difference between a PM and email? I would guess PM means the person has to log in to the forums to see the message and email would go directly to whatever email address they used to set up the GTOlist account. Thanks for any available advice. RE: question about posting to forums/pm/email - admin - 01-26-2017 McNally, I have sent you an email and a PM . Let me know if you receive them. RE: question about posting to forums/pm/email - McNally del Campo - 01-27-2017 As a follow up, Bill did some troubleshooting. Regarding PM's, it seems I didn't have the 'save a copy' button checked when I sent the message. For direct emails, it seems like there is a problem with the forum setup that Bill says will get fixed when the website gets revised this spring. When an email is sent through this site, a message pops up saying the message was sent successfully, but no email actually goes through. I assume this didn't come up as an issue before because not many people have tried the email function. |
