I'm told that the Basilica has a working pipe organ, as does the temple in Valenciana, and possibly the Compañía. My long-shot question is if anyone knows whether there are any recitals to be performed on these instruments expected?

The Templo de la Compañía does have a pipe organ. Don't know about recitals, but a couple of years ago, the Symphony Orchestra of the U. of Guanajuato did a concert there, and the organ was incorporated into one of the pieces they did. They had to make use of a video camera so that the organist could see the conductor.

Sounds cool, wish I'd been able to attend that one. We were told that GTO has lots of great stuff going on, and the trick is finding out about it.
