seeking used MX vehicle and insurance advice - Doyle Phillips - 10-11-2016
Looking for a small station wagon (MX plates) but
other configurations will be considered. Age and
mileage don't much matter as long as my
mechanic approves of the vehicle.
Can you suggest an insurance vendor for MX
car insurance?
Do you know of an international insurance
company that insures a MX car for travel in
the U.S. for at least 2 weeks or longer?
The insurance would need to meet minimum
liability requirements of Texas.

I have for years used http://www.siseguros.com.mx/. Online/good customer service/immediate cover and you can pay later.
For insuring a MX car in USA just stop and buy it at any broker's shop in Nuevo Laredo or Laredo - an easy place to do it is the rest stop halfway between Monterrey and Laredo on the toll road. As far as I know all insurance for MX plated vehicles is handled by National Unity Insurance. The shops are just brokers for them. http://www.nationalunity.com/
Come to think of it the last policy I had through SiSeguros even included the US cover with National Unity. I think US cover is limited to a maximum of 30 days.

we bought our Mx insurance through CI Bank covers the car in Mexico and the USA., We bought a new car but It probably works the same for older models

If you are a US Citizen living in MX and buy a MX plated/nationalized car, when driving back to the US, how long can you keep it in the US?
