Potential Job in the U.S./ H-2B Visa - Wyntopia1 - 09-11-2015 Hi guys! As I mentioned in a previous thread, I am a US atty and my husband, Mike and I have a business that handles visas for US companies that want to bring foreign workers to the US. I have a new client that will be bringing 4 workers to Wisconsin to work in a restaurant- 2 to work as cooks and 2 to work in the front. The employer pays for transportation to and from the US and the wages are set by the Dept of Labor (to make sure they are not paying a low wage). As I also mentioned in the previous thread- the employer also pays visa costs and most other expenses. The employer will find affordable housing for the worker as well. In this case, the employer seems like a nice guy and someone who would be fun to work with. And, they are able to visit beautiful Wisconsin (where we are from)! This employer needs workers in June, to stay for 4 or 5 months. They will return to their home country during the 'off season' and if approved by the US govt, they can return year after year. These are 'unskilled jobs' but it would be very helpful if the workers had a working knowledge of English. The job starts next June so the right person would have time to brush-up on the language. I think this job would be pretty fast-paced and I think in the past he had workers that were probably between 18 and 25. Previous restaurant experience is not required- I think the work will be fairly basic. Mike and I normally don't handle finding the workers (and are not being hired to do so) but in this case I thought it would be nice if we could find workers from our Gto community- the workers make enough that they can save and bring back during the off season. I have a couple people in mind for the jobs but thought you might as well. So, if you know someone in Gto that seems to be a good fit for this, please let me know and I'll be happy to meet with them. Please PM me and I'll send you my email. Thanks! |
