Try the TELECOMM office in the Casa de Moneda. The entrance is from the cafe on the side facing the Teatro Juarez

but if you have a fax machine dialing is simple 001 (country code) XXX (area code) XXX-XXXX(number) that's all you need.

Faxing can be a challenging prospect, especially in the age of VOIP replacing old land lines and where Faxing is more often than not, no longer supported. Also attempting local Mexico land line faxing to the US where several hops in long distance services exist may create issues is an issue of concern as well.

If you are trying to run a business this may help you. Otherwise, it's somewhat expensive comparatively speaking but in the past I have used a company called "Ring Central". They lease for $9.95 a month an inbound US 800 number where faxes will be received and converted to PDFs and sent to your email inbox. A companion program is also provided where you are able to scan items on your scanner and deliver them to the fax number you specify with zero errors, regardless of the speed of your data connection. I never had a failure using this setup. Still it's ten bucks a month, typically too expensive for casual users of fax. Still, understand that this is just an option for you if you are trying to conduct business in the US from Mexico and you are finding it challenging to fax in and out of the country.

Otherwise, if you fax infrequently to the US but wish to do so from your home and are finding Telmex impractical or has issues, I would be happy to provide you advice for using a VOIP provider here that has a pretty reliable fax service which runs around a penny a minute and only for "air time" that the fax is being transmitted. This is what I use most often these days and so far I have spent about $2 US the entire year. (Provides nothing on the inbound fax side, however.) It does require a special investment of an ATA device, the LinkSys SPA2102 (around $50) as well as requiring you signing up for a pay as you go VOIP account.

Message me if you are interested in learning what to do. The ATA device hooks up like a Vonage box to your router, but it supports fax where Vonage does not.
