Driving or flying from the Tucson area - Barbara - 02-28-2014

I'm looking for somebody who will be driving or flying from the Tucson area to Guanajuato. I was in Tucson last month and sent myself a box via UPS (about 20 used paperback books, 2 sets of sheets, a light comforter from IKEA, and a few items of my clothes that I wasn't using). The UPS office in Tucson didn't know (and neither did I) that you can't send used clothes to Mexico without proof that you've recently been in the U.S. (an airline ticket and passport), so Mexican customs returned the box to my friend in Tucson. I'm still trying to get my money back from UPS or have them re-send it at their cost. The UPS customer service office admitted that their office in Tucson made a mistake and should have known about this custom regulation. However, they keep procrastinating about refunding my money. In the meantime, I'd like to have my things. The box weighs 33 lbs, and if you are flying and don't have a second suitcase, I'll pay the fee (usually about $40 USD) for checking-in a second bag.
By the way, after this happened, the woman in the Tucson UPS office told my friend that it's better to use DHL to ship to Mexico!

If you paid for the shipment with a credit card file a dispute - or at least tell UPS you will file a dispute - with the card company.
