Collar Beam Going Up In Cajones! - Jzmackenzie - 05-15-2013
Last night, right after planning for the new top reinforcement collar beam to be put into place this week on the fire ravaged home, BOOM ? thunder announced the first rain of the season. It rained over 6 hours. We lost electrical power right away, but still Mother Rocio and I were hugging, and giving thanks. Our trees were all singing as the drought has been worse this year. Now, we face an exciting week ahead. The top reinforcement beam will make the home a single, tight, safe family unit.
Our bond of friendship continues to grow stronger as we shared life - even without electricity. At the same time we were anxiously awaiting Dad Memo to make his way along muddy, slippery, winding roads. Last night he took the girls to their aunt's house for dance class. We were concerned about him getting the girls back safely. The phone would not work. Ah...life in rural Mexico.
Yesterday, I read a card we put into a frame. It was sent years ago by an old girlfriend of Don's. It says,"Stand often in the presence of dreamers, they do impossible things!" They should have added, "With a little help from their friends."
