looking for a gym - DML - 07-04-2010

Hi there! I am new to this site and recently new to GTO. My family and I have moved here for a year.

I am looking for a gym to join...I am going to check out Underfit and I found a place called Go Fitness Center (on Calle Prolongacion Alfredo Duges 8, Col Cervera, which is right behind the Univ Santa Fe...which I have no idea where it is).

Can anyone here make any recommendations? I am also a certified personal trainer. Not sure if I could work here or not at a gym. If anyone knows anything about that I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Its 'out-of-town' but from the looks of its slick website might be worth checking out.

There are no other pages to this website other than what you see - you just click around the carousel.

To get there - head out on the road toward San Miguel. At the edge of town is a glorieta - Go RIGHT toward Puentecillas and the jail. A mile and a half down on the right there is a good sized road* and there should be a sign for the Universida de Santa Fe which will be on the right about a mile or so down that road.

* you've gone too far if you see the SEG [State Education Dept] on the left

Thanks for the info Mr. Bill! I think that may be too out of town for me but it is good to know it is there.

Hi,

Also going towards La Valenciana, there is a huge Sports Center run by the city (I believe) that has two or three olympic swimming pools, a gym and other very interesting things. It is fairly inexpensive to join. You might want to check it out. To work here you need special documentation, I will respond to your private message separately and a little later.

The Macro Centro Deportivo y Centro Acu?tico are run by CEDAJ which is a state organization. There is one Olympic 25x50m pool and one diving pool which is currently not in service - there is something wrong with the diving tower so they have a floating barge in the pool [didn't remove the water] from which they are making some serious repairs.

Here's a link to a recent story about the center from el Correo del Bajio

Before going to join save yourself a trip back to fetch what you need by reviewing the requistos here:

There is huge Sport's center on the hill up to Valenciana, on the the Dolores Hidalgo Hwy. It's cheap and beautiful, and has everything one could need, including a huge pool.
