Supplies are in place to start rebuilding the home for a family of 6 lost to a grass fire on Feb. 18th. A total of 5,000 pounds of concrete block were moved by ?man-power? as can been seen in these photos. Memo (owner of land) in in the truck throwing to 16 yr. old Lalo and he throws to 16 yr. old Giovanni. We have half a truck of sand and another half a ton of gravel in place (lying behind our old pick-up). Now, we have 1,200 block on site!
It has taken the better part of 3 weeks to get the septic dug. Even two days with a backhoe was not able to finish the job, but Don insists the family is going to have a bathroom and water running into the house. The effort is deeply appreciated by 5 females (mom, 16, 14, 9, & 4) who never had hot showers until they moved into our guest space. YOU patrons have made this happen. May you each be blessed ten times over for your donations!
This week, the water truck arrived to blast the shoot covered walls and ceilings of the home (of a family of 6) lost to a grass fire on Feb. 18th. It was terrific to have all that soot removed, but very sad to discover the weakness in the ceiling. It will take more supplies and labor to fix this unanticipated problem. However, at least nothing fell into the living area on the head of a worker or a family member. If you can help us with a small donation for this rebuilding they would be very grateful.
