Just ten days after loosing all belongings but the clothing they were wearing, the entire family attended a recital last night of three of the four girls Samantha, Eset, and Niomi. The dance was titled, "Never Give Up Your Dreams!" The universe listened. Three donations yesterday brought the total donated to $1,310.31!! The couple are in deep shock that others care out their economically marginalized indigenous family.
In one attached photo, Don is waving and saying "Thank You Everyone!!" I cannot express the joy and pride in his voice when he explained, in Spanish, that his dear old friend from high school sent the gift yesterday that made starting to rebuild their home a reality.
In our village, only ONE out of 500 students attends high school. Laura, the oldest girl who is as tall as her mother in the photo, is in high school. This is a family of dreamers and doers! We feel like our mission is a nonprofit dedicated to education is reinforced by helping this family to rebuild their home; they will then rebuild their lives.
